Coat and handbag by Burberry
As many of you might be heading to London for Christmas or New Year celebrations, I thought I should write about my stay at the Nadler SOHO ASAP, so you won’t miss out on this cool boutique hotel located in the heart of Soho.
I stayed at the Nadler SOHO for four nights in September during #LFW and trust me, I did not pick this hotel without heavy research and study (yes, I am a picky traveller!). First of all, I wanted a hotel that’s not crowded with tourist groups. Secondly, I can’t stand tiny hotel rooms. Thirdly, the location of the hotel needs to be convenient enough for me to go to different fashion shows and showrooms whilst also being within walking distance to some of the locations I would like to have photoshoots at.
Hotel prices during fashion weeks are not your best friend, so it wasn’t a price competition but more getting the best quality for money. The Nadler Soho is not the only hotel Nadler Hotels has; it’s actually its third one, with its first hotel opened in Liverpool and another one also in London. I picked the Soho one because I had never stayed in Soho before. Yes, I was a little concerned about the noise but luckily The Nadler is situated close to Soho Sqaure – away from bars pumping loud music and sex shops… So you can cross that worry off your list!
The room I picked was the Superior room – a spacious room with a king size bed and top-notch bed linen, toiletries and amenities, including a Nespresso machine (I think it’s compulsory that every hotel should have one now!) and a complete set of kitchenware just in case you want to cook or bring food back to your room. The big table and fast internet speed were the two most essential things I needed for work during the four days, and the room was big enough for my four suitcases to be lying around ready for me to pick out what I wanted to wear at any moment of the day.
One thing I do have to remind you is that the hotel doesn’t have any restaurants or bars, nor does it have a gym or swimming pool. (But wouldn’t it be a bit ridiculous to have a drink at the hotel when you have tons of funky places to visit just around the corner of the hotel? And seriously… why would you not want to go running around London during its most beautiful weather of the year?) However, you do get special recommendations and even dining or drink discounts at some of Soho’s neighbouring restaurants that the Nadler has developed partnerships with instead. Clever, right?
I really can’t thank The Nadler Soho’s kind staff enough for helping me during my stay, running in heels and getting me cabs when I was late for shows. Thank you for holding my reflection board when I didn’t have enough light to shoot around the neighbourhood. Thank you for taking care of my guests with refreshments while they were waiting for me in the lobby.
Thank you for all the smiles, and making my stay in London so pleasant during one of the city’s most hectic weeks of the year! Mwah to you all!
