AME Gallery’s Jewels 4 good Online Auction Starts on 1 September

The name of this event is “Jewels 4 Good” which is quite self-explanatory, in that you can purchase jewels for a good cause.

One of the good things about this event is that you don’t even have to be there, it’s an online auction!

• Artists: Karolina Bik (Poland), Mei Lee (Taiwan/Belgium), MOYA (Netherland), Salima Thakker (Belgium), Tricia Tang (Hong Kong)
• Benefiting Charities: Hong Kong Dog Rescue, The Jane Goodall Institute, Music for the Growing Mind, Mother’s Choice, Art in Hospital

The 5 pieces are valued at a total of HK$81,500 with 100% of the proceeds going to five different charities chosen by the designers. The auction coincides with the 1^st anniversary of AME Gallery which will contribute a further 10% of their sales during September 2012 of the designers’ entire portfolios to the charities.

Each item of jewellery will have a starting bid price of 30% of the retail price with bid increments between HK$350 and HK$1,800. The jewellery ranges in value from HK$6,000 to HK$30,000 with starting bids from HK$2,000 – giving everyone an opportunity to take part.

I am sure you can find different reasons to support this auction; maybe you see one of your supporting charities here, maybe you see a piece of jewelry you like. Either way, just think about how proud and happy you would feel when wearing one of these jewels knowing that you not only bought yourself happiness but also contributed to doing some good in someone’s life!

In the rare case that you can’t participate in this online auction, I was told that AME Gallery also does monthly auctions (1 jewelry per month to a different charity) so feel free to join anytime you want.
