There’s nothing more fun to do at the weekend than popping down to one of your local markets on a sunny Sunday.
Sadly, such choices in Hong Kong are very limited – or are really far away! I’ve been missing the fun market times I had back in London at Borough Market, Broadway Market, Camden Market, Columbia Road Flowers, Covent Garden, and Portobello Road Street… Until the launch of Island East Markets in Quarry Bay, Hong Kong!
I did announce its opening last year on my blog here (http://www.elleiconlee.com/weekend-fun-island-east-markets-in-hong-kong-週末遊:港島東農墟/) but never filled you in with more photos or recommendations, as no one was sure how long it was going to last. Well, I am happy to say; it’s still here! And it’s getting more and more popular every week!
For this upcoming Sunday, there will be live music performance; BBQ for dummies workshop from one of my favourite steak & brunch spots in town – Blue Butchers and the official debut of my friend’s homemade cookies, KAPOW!
To satisfy my craving for ice-cream, I headed to Lab Made (Asia’s first liquid nitrogen ice-cream laboratory) afterwards~ Talking about having a perfect end to a Sunday food exploration.
